On Sunday, June 16, 2019 at 9:22AM EDT, Silver Spring bound Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Train 203 while four thousand and eighty five feet away and in approach to Friendship Heights station reported that a wire and the conduit it was encased in had become dislodged from the ceiling of the tunnel and was fouling the dynamic envelope of rail traffic (the space the train occupies while moving).
