[developing] Rail Transit OPS’ Preliminary Statement on 5/18 Confirmed Near Miss outside Eisenhower Avenue Station

Rail Transit OPS can confirm that at approximately noon today, Thursday, May 18th, 2017, Yellow Line Train 307 was involved in a near-miss safety incident with three personnel on the WMATA roadway as the train approached Eisenhower Ave station outbound. The operator of Train 307 contacted Rail Operations Central Control (ROCC) per standard operating procedure.

Investigation is currently underway. There were no reported injuries.

Rail Transit OPS has reached out to both WMATA and the FTA for comment.
